About Polish Farmer

Polish Farmer LLC is a small operation where things are done largely by hand. We began in 2020 with the mission to grow heirloom dry beans as a plant-based protein for my community.

Building into my own operation was a long time in the making, working at six different organic farms over the course of nine years. An enthusiastic round of applause is deserved to all those busy farmers who make time to train doe-eyed kids like myself- it takes a lot of energy and patience and we would not have as many next generation farmers without that effort.

Here at Polish Farmer, I put those years of training to use and practice methods that are sustainable and work with the Earth’s ecosystem. I also practice seed saving to develop a seed bank that is more adapted and resilient to the area. While the farm grows, a dedication to sustainability and respect for all living things will continue to be at the center of the work I do. So get back to your roots, enjoy a delicious meal and join the Polka!

Acknowledging Our History

The name Polish Farmer LLC was chosen to honor my family’s history in agriculture. My mother’s family came to Minnesota from Poland in 1881, settling in the farming community of Argyle in the Red River Valley.

I also respectfully acknowledge the Anishinaabe Ojibwe, the indigenous people of this area of Minnesota. They are the original stewards of this land and continue to do venerable work in agriculture and seed biodiversity.
